February marked the last meeting of Astrotas – at least for the immediate future. Astro Melbourne and South Australia continue. The landscape has changed dramatically since Robyn Hennessey started Astrotas and ‘alternative health’ is now thankfully mainstream. Hippies are hip again! Permaculture, green recycling, sustainable technologies – the Tasmanian events calendar is now full of great activities in all these areas. I’ll pop by to post a selection on this page in the box below:

ASTRO Victoria (Alternative Science and Technology Research Organisation of Victoria) are hosting Wal Thornhill at Kew Library Kew Library, Cnr Cotham Road & Civic Drive, Kew, 3101

Feb 13th 2017 7:45 pm

members $5 non members $15 light refreshments included – tickets at the door.

We know Melbournians have been waiting a while for him to come and speak back where the journey all began for him so this promises to be very exciting presentation. There will be a short Q and A session afterwards so if you have a burning question to ask Wal write it down now!

If you are interested in alternative health and technology in Tasmania make sure you are on the mailing list for the Northwest Environment Centre and the Reseed Centre both in Penguin. Tune into their facebook page www.facebook.com/pages/north-west-environment-centre/139315952759091 I also reccomend the Cradle coast tourism webpage and newsletter for a monthly roundup of what’s on around NW Tasmania http://www.cradletocoasttastingtrail.com.au/d/events

NOTABLE PAST ASTROTAS TALKS

Wallace Thornhill – the Electric Universe Saturday 18th October 2014

recording of event – and extensive archive of notes relating to the talk

“The Electric Universe is an invitation to curious people of all ages and all walks of life. It does not answer every question a human being could ask. But whatever your deeper interests, it will help clear the path ahead of you. On the deepest scientific questions it will expose our conditioned layers of thought and perception. That is how we begin to see the accumulating evidence for what it is—nature itself calling us to a sweeping intellectual revolution. It is a story that touches everyone at some point.” – Wallace Thornhill

Astrotas sponsored philosopher & physicist   Wallace Thornhill  from Canberra to come and talk about the Electric Universe and its paradigm shattering implications ahead of his upcoming presentation in Arizona in November with other scientists of the Thunderbolts Project.

Life itself is an electrical event. The Electric Universe ends the mathematical myths of Big Bangs, Black Holes and Dark Matter, and unifies our understanding of the universe as an organic, electrically-powered, field organized living system…….electricity shaping the formation of life in the embryo – and its natural progression to planets, stars and galaxies formed from intertwining, coursing Electro-Magnetic currents.

Astrotas invites you to discover this new understanding of the universe first hand from a modern Galileo. drawing on his 5 decades of accumulated knowledge – ranging from the mythology of ancient civilizations to the soon to be completed MAVEN mission to mars; from the exposition of worlds in collision, to the earthly and practical application of an alternative energy source.

He is a 2010 Telesio-Galilei Academy of Science Laureate. In 2011 he delivered “Stars in an Electric Universe” as the John Chappell Memorial Lecture at the Natural Philosophy Alliance, Maryland University. He received their Sagnac Award for his lifelong contribution to science in 2013 “A real cosmology must be a broad and coherent natural philosophy. It may always be incomplete, based on our limitations, but to be valid there can be no exceptions in our experience. In particular, cosmology must address issues of life and the human condition. Therefore it must be a truly interdisciplinary pursuit.”

Wallace Thornhill  is now the chief scientific advisor to the Thunderbolts Project. He has a degree in physics and electronics from Melbourne University and began postgraduate studies with Prof. Victor Hopper’s upper atmosphere research group. Before entering university he had been inspired by Immanuel Velikovsky’s best-selling controversial book, Worlds in Collision, which contends that “our ancestors may have witnessed awe inspiring electrical events in the heavens—the source of myths and symbols around the world.” Rather than pursue a career in astrophysics in an academia generally hostile to such a line of enquiry, Wal turned to computing, working with IBM and the prestigious IBM Systems Development Institute in Canberra, followed by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs while continuing his studies of plasma and electricity in astronomy privately. He has been mentored by Velikovsky himself. In 1994 his life changing meeting with David Talbott, at the Velikovsky Symposium in Oregon led to their collaboration on the Thunderbolts Project. Together they have authored two books – the Electric Universe and Thunderbolts of the Gods (ltd quantity available for  pick up at meeting $30 ea,. to reserve a copy contact us  or purchase on eventbrite.

“The Australian Aborigines have their stories of the dream time where there’s a rainbow serpent that changed the face of the Earth and did all sorts of amazing things when there were two suns in the sky and the rainbow snake swallowed one of them. All of these kinds of things have an actual explanation in terms of plasma physics but they have no explanation in standard astronomy.
The result of that is that our cultures are built around stories we don’t understand, but the electric universe illuminates those as well. So we begin to see our real place in the scheme of things and that is a liberating thing. It is something that the human race desperately needs I think because we are at present behaving quite irrationally. When you look at our situation in the universe and here we are fighting over petty things. We’re destroying our environment willy nilly.” – Wal Thornhill, SOTT interview

  1. Hi, do you need to pre order tickets for Saturdays lecture with Anita? Also I am not a member yet does that make a difference … and would I be able to bring a friend ? Regards, Annette

    • hi Annette, there’s no ticketing. Non members pay a little extra and get membership included for future meetings. Certainly you can bring a friend – the more the merrier. Hope to see you Sat.

  2. We do not understand the origin of all the electric phenomena, because we do not understand the incredible role of NEW PARADIGM Dark Matter based Black Holes of all sizes !!
From Ball lightning to Sprite related Plasma balls, Earth bound micro Comets, real Comets, ( see Comet 67P) Sunspots and all other dark matter Black Holes gravity point sourcers.
see perhaps, see Quantum FFF Theory. ( Function Follows Form at the quantum level and in cosmology)

    • hi Leo, thanks for the comment. After examining the EU concept though I have to agree that black holes are not so much a new paradigm as a bad explanation concocted to fit the observations – hence we have gone from a simple blackhole sucking in all matter, to microscopic ones that don’t, to the concept of black holes that ‘blow bubbles’ emitting huge beams and clouds of matter. There is just matter – no special dark stuff, that interacts electro-magnetically the same way across all dimensions in the universe.
